It is our policy at Monifieth Dental Clinic that all treatment is paid prior to or on the day that treatment takes place.
Following your consultation with the dentist you will be advised of the estimated cost of your treatment (NB often for simple treatments such as radiographs or simple scaling the dentist will not advise of the costs unless specifically asked). It is preferable for treatment to be paid upfront where possible however should there be a series of appointments required staged payments can also be made.
Payments can be made in cash or by using cheque or debit/credit card. Payments can now be accepted by telephone.
More extensive treatments (with a cost over £600) can be paid for using a credit plan. Please ask your dentist or at reception for more details.
Failure to pay for your dental treatment as requested will lead to any further appointments being cancelled and future appointment booking blocked until the fees are paid. Persistent failure to respond to payment requests may result in the use of legal action to recover our costs.
Should you be having difficulty in paying for your dental treatment you can apply for help with the costs of NHS treatment. Please ask at reception for a HC1 form.
Please note that although we realise that emergencies can happen there will be charges applied should appointments be cancelled at short notice. The practice will endeavour to fill the cancelled appointment however should this not be possible a charge will be applied at a rate of £1 per minute for the cancelled appointment.
Cancelled and missed appointments have a negative effect on patient care and the ability of the clinic to provide the very best care which we believe our patients deserve.
